Get it before it's gone! Fantastic opportunity to live in Clearview, only minutes to Devil's Glen and Creemore. 2445 Riverside Drive is a unique property with perfect features for anyone seeking their slice of country living.

Below, I'm sharing some insights from my Sotheby's International Realty colleague, Katrina Elliston, as well as the current seller and owner of this special house. If you’re interested in more information, please contact me directly at vsmith@sothebysrealty.ca.

Katrina, tell us a little about the property.

Riverside sits on just over 14 acres with lovely seasonal escarpment views from the home. The property is very private, featuring forests and views over 2 acres of rural space and 12 acres of environmentally protected lands.  I love that Riverside Drive comes with an acre of property across the road, abutting a tributary to the Mad River. The location is perfect for picnics, fishing, and relaxing by the water. You can also walk over to the old Sixth Line to do some brilliant hiking, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing.

What can you tell us about the chalet?

It's bright and open with over 2100 sq ft of living space, featuring three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Perfect for entertainers, the living room and dining room open up with a floor-to-ceiling, double-sided brick fireplace, cathedral ceilings, wood beams, and large windows.

One of my favourite elements is the gorgeous three-season sunroom and its windows that open up to views all around– a perfect place to read and relax while admiring the views, forest, and gardens. The living space continues to unfold, expanding throughout two decks off of the sunroom and kitchen.

I love the idea of retiring at the end of the day to the stunning retreat of the master suite. Located on the top floor, it features a great three-piece ensuite. You can relax in the soaker tub, all while taking in the views of the forest just beyond the windows. Perfection!

From the owner, on their favourite gems:

My favourite part of the chalet is the privacy of the location. It's like your own piece of paradise up in the woods.  Once you're up there, the views and the peacefulness are unique.

In early December, I call it my "snow globe," when you can sit on the couch, in front of the fire, watching the snow fall on the cedars. It is a magical place.

Architectural features, like the spectacular ceiling height through the living room and master bedroom, make the chalet feel fresh and contemporary. The split-level design of the home allows for an expansive flow throughout. While the home is over 30 years old, the design and attention to detail keep the property timeless.

The property itself is exceptional, and a spring or fall walk up the hill in the woods is also a magical experience. There is access to the old Sixth Line up top for longer hikes and views, while the riverside property features wild leeks in spring and a nice place to sit by the Mad River in the summer.  When heavily frozen, we've even ventured onto the river for a cross-country ski.

The location is also a huge plus ... 8km outside Creemore, 10km from Devil's Glen, 20km from Mad River or Collingwood.
